The light-hearted, whimsical tone of Dvořak’s Humoresque sets the tone for this recital. Eike Coetzee is a 14-year old violinist from Windhoek. He started violin lessons at age seven with Jürgen Kriess, and has been a student of Prof. Jack de Wet since 2012. He is a regular on the Namibian stage, and has performed as soloist at various Concerto Festivals with the Namibian National Symphony Orchestra. In 2016 he was assistant concert master of the Concert Orchestra of the Stellenbosch International Chamber Music Festival.
Other items on the programme are the Spring Sonata by Beethoven, the Partita in E by Bach, for solo violin, and Danse Espangnole by Manuel de Falla.
