Peter Cartwright (piano)
Returning to the Wakkerstroom Music Festival for the first time since 2013, pianist Peter Cartwright presents a recital of works from the Classical era. The programme will include Mozart’s lesser known late piano works, the Adagio in B Minor, and Rondo in A Minor, Beethoven’s famous ‘Waldstein’ sonata and works by his contemporary Franz Schubert.
Peter Cartwright has performed at numerous venues around South Africa, as well as in the USA, Botswana and Zimbabwe. He appeared as soloist with the Johannesburg Festival and Youth Orchestras and the Gauteng Camerata, and has attended master classes in Aspen. Peter holds a MMus from WITS, where he is accompanist, piano tutor, and concert organiser, and is currently registered for his PhD.
