Elmarie van der Vyver (viola), Mathilda Hornsveld (piano) and Mietze Dill (cello) explore the versatile splendour of the French musical landscape by arranging certain works to suit this instrumentation. Gabriel Fauré’s Piano Trio in D Minor, Op. 120 will serves as the centrepiece of the programme. They will also be performing the enigmatic Pavane for a Dead Princess by Maurice Ravel, Henri Büsser’s Appassionato Op.34 (for viola and piano) and Fauré’s Élégie, Op.24 (for cello and piano).
