{"id":28,"date":"2014-10-05T11:29:32","date_gmt":"2014-10-05T11:29:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wmfestival.co.za\/?page_id=28"},"modified":"2025-02-23T09:17:10","modified_gmt":"2025-02-23T09:17:10","slug":"about","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/wmfestival.co.za\/?page_id=28","title":{"rendered":"About"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Wakkerstroom Music Festival<\/strong> is registered as a non-profit organisation under Section 21 of the Companies Act, Registration No. 097-091-NPO.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Vision<\/strong><br \/>\nWMF\u2019s vision is to annually hold a sustainable classical music festival of exceptional quality linked to our WMF Marimba Ensemble Community Project.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mission<\/strong><br \/>\nTo create a unique platform through which classical music in South Africa will be promoted in all its forms.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Objectives<\/strong><br \/>\nWakkerstroom Music Festival is to be held annually and aims to:<br \/>\n\u2022 Present a classical music festival of a superior quality,<br \/>\n\u2022 Create an inclusive opportunity for both young and upcoming artists and established artists to share the same stage,<br \/>\n\u2022 Promote existing and new classical music,<br \/>\n\u2022 Involve all local secondary and tertiary institutions training students in the arts and related subject fields,<br \/>\n\u2022 Generate the community\u2019s interest and encourage education in classical music and fine arts,<br \/>\n\u2022 Provide a comprehensive marketing opportunity for the participating institutions, partners and sponsors,<br \/>\n\u2022 Add value to the financial support given by the sponsors.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Aims<\/strong><br \/>\nIn order to realize the above-mentioned objectives, the Wakkerstroom Music Festival has set the following aims:<br \/>\n\u2022 An offer of a wide variety of classical music productions,<br \/>\n\u2022 A high profile gala event,<br \/>\n\u2022 Cooperation with the local secondary and tertiary institutions to expose their students to a practical learning experience,<br \/>\n\u2022 An annual incorporation of local classical music artists and local artists of the fine arts,<br \/>\n\u2022 A 75% attendance<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Registered Office and Contact Details<\/strong><br \/>\n36 Hoog Street, Wakkerstroom 2480<br \/>\nE-mail: info@wmfestival.co.za<br \/>\nP.
