Marimba Melodies: A Celebration of Rhythm and Harmony

The WMF Marimba Ensemble Project, an inspiring outreach project of the Wakkerstroom Music Festival, has been bringing the joy of music to the community since 2016. Initially formed with the enthusiastic participation of local children, the band has grown over the years, welcoming students from Wakkerstroom, Country College since 2017, and Volksrust High School since 2024. Many of the young musicians have been part of the respective ensembles since its inception, showcasing their dedication and passion for music. Their diverse repertoire spans from classical pieces to vibrant African rhythms and popular music, reflecting the rich cultural tapestry of our community.
