Wind and Keys – Stories Told in Sound

Next, Reinecke’s Undine Sonata, Op. 167 takes the audience into the mythical world of the water spirit Undine, with flowing melodies and dramatic contrasts evoking her enchanting tale. The mood shifts to exhilarating virtuosity with Ian Clarke’s The Great Train Race, a composition that imitates the sounds and energy of a high-speed train, using extended techniques.  The recital concludes with Benjamin Godard’s Suite de trois morceaux, Op. 116 is a charming Romantic suite that blends grace, brilliance, and lyricism, leaving the listener nostalgic.
