Sharing the stage are Five Pieces for Cello and Piano by American composer Amy Beach (1867–1944), the breathtakingly beautiful Solitude (Rêverie) by French composer Rita Strohl (1865–1941), and the elegant Sérénade, Op. 46, No. 1 by compatriot Mélanie Bonis (1858–1937). Together, these composers chart a parallel history of classical music — one that is finally, and justly, being heard.
