WMF Marimba Ensemble Community ProjectThe WMF Marimba Ensemble Project, an inspiring outreach initiative of the Wakkerstroom Music Festival, has been bringing the joy of music to the community since 2016. Initially formed with the enthusiastic participation of local children, the ensemble has grown steadily over the years, welcoming students from Wakkerstroom Country College since 2017 and Volksrust High School since 2024. Many of the young musicians have been part of their respective ensembles since inception, showcasing remarkable dedication and passion for music. Their diverse repertoire spans classical pieces, vibrant African rhythms and popular music, reflecting the rich cultural tapestry of the surrounding community.
